Online Gaming Predictions for the Next Year

The state of New Jersey is now predicting that online wagering for the state's racing industry will rise over $200,000 in the next year. That will bring the revenue figure to over $9 million. "What is interesting about that projected figure in New Jersey is that the overall operating revenue is expected to drop by $5 million next year, yet the Internet gambling revenue is expected to increase," said observer Bill Whitman. The Internet wagering may not be helped by the ongoing legal battle in Kentucky. The state has seized the domain names to 141 online casinos, and the fallout from that case could damage Internet wagering across the country.

With the growing number of people who are turning to Internet gambling instead of going out to the racetracks, the new administration in the US could be more open to regulating online casinos than the outgoing administration was. Next year, Internet enabled mobile devices will be allowed to be used by gamblers to place horse racing bets in the state. The move is being done to try and help the struggling racing industry in New Jersey.
